In this course, you will learn how to make beautiful saree blouses like off-shoulder and shawl collar blouses from scratch. You will get hands on experience with accurate body measurements, drafting, fabric cutting, and sewing, so you can create blouses that fit perfectly and look professional.
You can use any kind of fabric that you feel comfortable in, and as per your designs. Do you want a stiff fabric? Or something that falls well? You choose your fabric based on your designs. Some examples of fabrics that you can use are cotton, silk, raw silk, georgette, net, you can use anything except knit fabrics for making your blouses.
A saree blouse is a fitted garment, whereas a western blouse is a loose-fitted garment. Saree blouses are often cropped at the midriff whereas western blouses are much longer and are often worn with pants or skirts. Saree blouses are often worn as traditional wear while western blouses are mostly worn as office wear, formal wear or party wear.
We encourage our students to finish the assignments within the stipulated time. However, if you are unable to do so, you will get a couple of days’ extension to complete it.
After this course, you would know how to create different kinds of saree blouses. Apart from being able to sew beautiful saree blouses for yourself and your loved ones, you will be able to take custom orders for other people, collaborate with boutiques to sell your blouses, or even start your own label and sell them online or open your own store. The possibilities are endless; it all depends on how motivated you are.
