- Cut two more rectangular pieces of fabric for the bag’s handles. Make sure they are long enough to comfortably fit over your shoulder.
- Pin the two bag pieces together, right sides facing each other. Sew the sides and bottom of the bag together using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Repeat for the other side.
- Press the seams open with an iron.
- Cut two small squares of fabric to reinforce the bottom corners of the bag. Fold each square in half diagonally to create a triangle, then sew it to the bottom corners of the bag.
- Fold each handle piece in half lengthwise, right sides facing each other, and sew along the long edge using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Turn the handles right side out.
- Pin the ends of the handles to the top edge of the bag, with about 3 inches of space between them. Sew the handles to the bag with a rectangle and an “X” shape to reinforce the attachment.
- Turn the bag right side out and press it with an iron.
