Start Drawing
1.Start with balance line
Balance line also known as base line where the illustration starts. The balance line should be a straight vertical line, even if you want the model to be posed at an angle. When designing clothes, you don’t need a proportional model because the clothes are on display, not the character’s drawing skills. Don’t worry too much about creating an accurate looking model or adding features to your face.
2.Sketching pelvic side
Draw a square just below the centre of the balance line to represent the pelvis. You can tilt it to create different poses. Tilt this pelvic square to the left or right, keeping in mind the desired pose. Tilt the square slightly to the left if you want the model’s hips to tilt to the left. If you want a normal standing model, draw the square upright and without left and right angles.
3.Draw shoulders
Draw a long torso line up from the two corners of the pelvic square. Your shoulders should be as wide as your hips or the top of your pelvis, just like in a real human body. From the top corners of the pelvic square he draws two lines up, forming the torso. The line should curve inwards at the waist and extend outwards to form the shoulders. The width of the shoulders should be the same width as the square of the pelvis.
4.Sketch head to neck
You can delete the first ellipse you created to represent the head. Sketch the head so that it looks natural in the chosen pose. You can easily tilt it up, down, left and right.
5.Sketch foots
The feet must be approximately the same length as the head and be triangular in shape. The character’s arms should be slightly longer than they actually are. Create the arm with a tapered line going to the elbow and then back to the wrist. Finish with your hands and fingers.
6.Draw rest body
The legs are the longest part of the body, about four heads long. His legs are also divided into two parts that are thighs and calves. Note that fashion illustrators usually exaggerate the height of their models by making their legs longer than their torso.
